What are Grow & Learns?

Get ready for an incredible experience with the AgLanta Grow and Learn Program! Join us every month for hands-on workshops and volunteer opportunities at the Urban Food Forest at Browns Mill (2217 Browns Mill Rd SE, Atlanta, GA 30315, USA). With the support of the City of Atlanta's Urban Agriculture and Food Systems Team (UAFS Team,) Kendall Rae's Green Heart brings you an exciting fusion of agriculture, ecology, and community. Through these interactive trainings our aim is to empower and encourage community members to enhance their education and practical skills. Don't miss out on this season of growth and discovery, happening from July to December 2023.

How do I participate?

There are two ways that you can participate in the grow and learn workshop.

Become an Instructor.

Ready to teach a skill or share a concept in urban gardening or farming?

Are you passionate about connecting with the community in a meaningful way? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals and organizations to lead educational workshops and events at the Urban Food Forest at Browns Mill. Join us as a Grow and Learn instructor and make a positive impact while creating lasting connections through this amazing program.


Together, let's grow, learn, and nurture our community!

Here are some tips for creating your workshop idea.

What is your project?


What would you like for the community to learn. Define your sequence of completed tasks that attains a

certain outcome. In your own words give us your idea or concept that you think would the community may benefit from.


Who will be your ideal target? How many ppl?


Your ideal target may be youth, multi-generational, beginning gardeners/farmers, etc. What are the ages? Does this speak to everyone or just one ethnic group. And how many ppl do you do you expect to participate? Let us know.


What materials are needed for a successful workshop/class?


Do you project comes with materials? or would you need materials? Do you have give-a-ways? Provide a list of things you may need to produce your project?

  1. Read Instructions:
    • Carefully read through the instructions provided with the form. Ensure you understand the purpose of each section and any specific requirements for completion. Pay attention to deadlines and submission guidelines.
  2. Gather Project Information:
    • Before you start filling out the form, gather all the necessary information and supporting documents you might need (listed above). This may include personal details, identification and any relevant project details (in the context of the Grow and Learn Project).
  3. Complete Sections Methodically:
    • Start filling out the form section by section. Provide accurate and concise information. If there are any sections that you're unsure about, refer back to the instructions or contact the program administrator for clarification. Double-check for completeness and accuracy before moving on to the next section.
  4. Review and Submit:
    • Once you've completed all the sections, take a moment to review your entries. Ensure that all information is accurate, and you have provided all necessary details. If the form allows, consider saving or printing a copy for your records. Finally, submit the form following the specified submission process (online submission). Keep a confirmation of submission if available.


By following these four steps, you can navigate the form-filling process systematically and ensure that you provide all the necessary information for your Grow and Learn Project Proposal
